Even if the intro vault wasn't a perfect introduction to the world and mechanics it would be worth it for the payoff moment of seeing the wasteland for the first time, it's exhaustive on a replay but they let you remake your character at the exit to curcumvent this. L review on all fronts. Congrats on giving up right after the tutorial.
