I’ve invested almost 1000 hours into this sh/t and have regretted every single second of it. Do yourself a favor and stay away from it, it’s not worth it.
Rocket League hasn’t been the same for a long time, and ever since Epic Games (aka the biggest junk shop, giving away boring games for free to improve their image) bought the game, it has gotten even worse than it already was.
The mere fact that Rocket League became free some time ago and the players who previously bought the game with money received nothing significant from Epic Games says it all and further confirms my point of view. Since this trash became free, there are more smurfers than ever before. The ranks are so unbalanced now that you can’t really enjoy playing at any rank.
But "fun" and Rocket League are two terms that should never be used in the same sentence anyway. Even before all the Epic Games nonsense, “fun” was definitely out of place in Rocket League. When game developers decided it was a good idea to include Quick Messages like “What a save!” or “Savage!”, it turned out to be the biggest mistake Psyonix ever made. Provocations with such messages are common and promote the toxicity of this goddamn community to an abnormal level.
In summary, my 950 hours of gameplay have been wasted time and I can only advise everyone against even touching this game. Invest your valuable time elsewhere rather than playing a dying game from Epic trash.
