This is a delightful game with entertaining exploration, immersive and engaging story, strategic fights, good camp management, balanced gameplay, satisfying character progression, and a devilish yet enjoyable loot system that allows you to loot people's homes. I finished for the second time when I found out that I didn't get the 'true' ending, thus adding a nice replay value.

What makes the story good?

@RedBackLoggd The game immerses you immediately, creating a sense of mystery as you unravel what has happened and what will happen. Each character offers quests that help you bond with them, making your choices feel significant. The variety of quests also evokes a wide range of emotions, enhancing the overall experience.

Haha, let me just say that I'm sure you were 100% authentic in this reply, but it admittedly can't help reading like a ChatGPT response xD

@RedBackLoggd Oh, I was authentic. What I wrote felt messy and janky, so I let ChatGPT smooth it out. It didn't write a response from scratch; it just edited what I wrote to increase its readability. I see nothing wrong with that :D Even though my response might be a little dramatic and posh, my points still stand. I also wanted to add that character writing is fine. Another thing is that I never said the story was extraordinary or even good. It was engaging and immersive. On a side note, when I say "strategic fights," I am not saying the strategy in this game exceeds the Baldur's Gate 3 or big 4X games. When I say "enjoyable loot system," I am not saying the loot system in this game is better than The Witcher 3 or Borderlands 2. The same goes with other things I praised in this game. And even if I said the story was good or extraordinary, my reviews are never objective and will never be. If I like something, I like it; if I don't, then I don't.

P.S. I agree with your well-written reviews for SteamWorld Dig games :)

Haha, all good man. You really were enthusiastic for this title and I'm glad it worked for you. The game got mixed reviews on Steam so I was curious if the story made it worth any potential gameplay flaws.

And thanks, though those are admittedly less reviews and more recollections from a long ago past I assembled here.
