What gives? I thought this was supposed to be one of the classics of the SNES-era RPGs. Honestly this played worse than its already-mediocre Game Boy predecessor. I abandoned this a year ago and only today realized I will never go back to it, there are too many good games for me to play.

I started this one a year or so ago and also just haven't gone back. It instantly reminded me of Secret of Evermore, a game I loved when I was a kid. So I've got to give Mana that very belated, begrudging "okay, yes, you did it first" nod of approval for sort of spiritually preceding a childhood favorite, but that doesn't make it an enjoyable play 30 years later.
