I was feeling tired earlier today and didnt feel like playing something that would use too much energy and I remembered that I never played this random piece of DLC that Nintendo put out like 2 years ago. (It’s so weird that this even came out, I guess it was to help push the update that allowed Co Op and reignite interest, but it was still like out of nowhere lol) Captain Toad is so relaxing to just mellow out to and take things easy, but this isnt a review of the base game. This Special Episode is pretty inoffensive, but its also just kind of there. There are 18 Courses, but most of them are remixes, with only 5 being wholly Unique. The new ones are fun, and the ones where you gotta piece together the crowns are enjoyable too. The weird amount of Boo ones though aren't that great and all feel samey. Overall its pretty down the middle, its just something to turn your brain off to for 2 hours and relax. The last level is pretty fun though and if a Captain Toad sequel is ever made, expanding on that idea and making it into an endless survival mode of floor after floor, collecting as many coins as you can, could be REALLY fun. That last level brings this up half a star.
