Loved returning to this franchise. I am one of the minority who loved Color Splash on Wii U, so as a happy medium between the older games and the newer style, I was excited to see where Origami King would land. While the puzzle battles are a great idea, they leave a lot to be desired in terms of variety and accessibility, but the connected world, goofy levels, and truly masterclass writing elevate the game to a high point of the Paper Mario franchise for me. It's not a constant success, but it shows that Nintendo still has some soul left for this surprisingly emotional run through its papercraft world.
