Agent A is a spy-based point-and-click puzzle game. A port of an original mobile version. the PC version looks great and has a clean, animated art style with an engrossing interconnected world to explore, which grows upon each of the game's chapters. The puzzles were mostly simple, resulting in get item, use on point of interest types of solutions. While I never had genius-level moments, it did feel good to click around the world and find new secrets. The writing is predictable at best, boring at worst. The antagonists are voiced, while the protagonist is silent, but all of the little quips lose both ways. It's better to ignore the story almost entirely. Similarly, the game presents a mission format and never really uses it effectively. I was hoping for some marked side missions or something to make those pop-ups feel more important. Additionally, the game requires A LOT of backtracking through rooms, which gets stale fast. Particularly, in the latter two chapters, nothing feels fast enough to justify dipping between all the different locales. If there was an option to quick travel between points, or if there were more ways to connect from area to area, that would have been appreciated. Overall, the game is a small bite of fun worth the reasonable price tag if its on sale or mobile.
