You're cooking something really neat here.
For one, both of these games are regarded as mechanically unsatisfying (to varying degrees of truth; Drakengard looks quite fun imo). I think this is in part a byproduct of their relationship to their contemporaries: Drakengard to Dynasty Warriors and Shaq-Fu to Delphine Software's previous work, Another World and Flashback, "cinematic platformers" that emphasize animation fluidity via rotoscoping. In emulating the style of popular games of their time, Drakengard gets described as mindless and repetitive, which are common criticisms of musou, and Shaq-Fu gets described as sluggish and unresponsive, deemed cardinal sins in the fighting game genre.
For two, both of these games are really quite pretty!
