the early game is a bit tough for people not accustomed to the typical JRPG information dump through tons of text-based tutorials
but once I got over the initial hike I could not put this game down, especially once I found out there were branching paths for the main story
so far I have only completed the crimson flower route on normal/classic and it was pretty easy, so for my next playthrough I will attempt verdant wind on normal/classic ng+
my main gripe with the game is the monastery, which feels overwhelming at first and suffocating when I have like 2 points to spend on activities and boring in the late game when I have 7 or 8 points to spend and not much to do (I ended up doing random advanced drills not to let the points go to waste)
