A fun, imaginative Western pastiche with an explicit focus on capitalism that eventually morphs into something deeper - one that really acknowledges the racial and historical weight of its American iconography. The other Oddworld games tackle this too, but they're logy where this is three-dimensional, free, and exciting. By default, one of the best games about the transgender experience.

I need to know the explanation for that last sentence

You have to squint a bit as it’s intended as a racism thing, but - spoilers - for half the game you’re trying to raise money for body surgery and “passing” as something you’re not. The back stretch can then be broadly read as “coming out” and embracing one’s true self. Doesn’t track perfectly, but most games don’t even try.

Hmmmm, maybe in the AAA space, but there are plenty of good indies about trans characters now. Also I haven't played this game in probably a decade and my main memory of it is the ending being very anti-capitalist which I loved.
