I don't want to come across as too harsh towards the team behind BaTIM, as it holds a special place in my childhood memories. However, I recently played the game after years of not thinking about it and found it to be a rather mediocre experience.
The first two chapters were enjoyable, and the game did a great job of setting the atmospheric tone. I especially appreciated the beautiful art style and fantastic voice acting. The audio logs were particularly interesting, and they reminded me of the game Bioshock.
Unfortunately, the third chapter was a letdown, and while the fourth chapter was an improvement, it wasn't enough to make up for the huge disappointment that was the fifth chapter. While I appreciated the ending and its meaning, I found it difficult to care about what the protagonist, Henry, had gone through in the game. Overall, I was disappointed, but I have heard that the sequel is much better, so perhaps I'll give it a try someday.
