The Bunker is an interesting horror game that has a lot of elements from classic survival horror. There's a central hub where you'll return to constantly to store items, add fuel to the generator and save the game. The surrounding areas serve has the major sections of the game you'll go to progress. While you can go most places relatively early on giving you a lot of freedom, there is a certain order that's needed to actually advance the main objectives however.

There are very few enemies in the game. For the most part, it's just the big monster that roams the entire bunker and rats that block certain paths. The monster is essentially like Mr. X from Resident Evil 2 Remake on steroids. It will go everywhere and even break down doors. Even the central hub where you save the game is not safe. The only thing that it apparently doesn't break down are big closets you can hide in. On that note, the game is pretty good on the tutorials and hints (if you turn the option on), but the game never really brings up this mechanic.

Noises will attract the monster's attention and you will make a lot. Even the flashlight requires winding up which creates noise so there's a lot of tension throughout if you hear it roaming around. If it spots you, it's very difficult to straight outrun it. You can shoot it to stun it momentarily, but it's not always a great method especially considering that ammo is very scarce.

I'm not a fan of the controls and how some require extra steps just to do an action. For example, to open doors, you need to first get close and hold the interact button, then use the stick to pull or push open. I'd rather if there's just a single button press is all you need to do such actions.

The horror elements are pretty good. The bunker is dark and mostly quiet except when you hear the monster roaming around. Most of the lights require the generator to be on, but that requires fuel which drains quite quickly.

I don't recall any puzzles, but they were likely pretty simple if there were any. Resources are mostly limited other than cloths. Many of the codes needed to advance are randomized each time so guides aren't going to be helpful at times if you get stuck.

The story is decent, but I sort of expected more to it. The endings weren't really satisfying.

Overall, the Bunker is a decent title with interest survival gameplay mechanics. The game is also very short which took me roughly 5 hours to clear on Normal.
