Arguably one of the greatest fangames ever created, and undoubtedly one of the scariest games I've ever played. .flow still stands the test of time as a truly nerve-wracking experience into the mind of a truly broken person who's mind is rotting by the second. The further you go in this game, the more the decay only continues to worsen and worsen, as you keep subjecting yourself to extreme body horror, abstract nightmares, and the sterile cynical fact that who you are playing as cannot be saved, and the more she stays alive, the worse off she is.

As much as I do love Yume Nikki, and especially what it did for the indie community as a whole, I think .flow is more akin to what I enjoyed from that game. While exploring is certainly still the whole point of the game, I feel the shift to tell a very clear story (albeit still up to interpretation) as well as shifting Nikki's already fantastic horror to its absolute extremes makes this one of the most memorable horror games of all time, and a must play for fellow fans of the RPG Maker styles of games.
