You're not exactly right. One of the reasons for the Senran Kagura IP becoming nearly dead was the series actually bending to the knee towards Sony, hence why RE:Burst was censored on the PS4. This led into the creator leaving Marvelous for some gacha company and Senran Kagura 7even to being canceled.
