fun that awhile back Bloober Team said something about wanting to be the Blumhouse of video games (what a high bar that would be...) but they can barely even match the quality of studios that shit out things like Lights Out, The Forest, or whatever streaming service fodder. my least favorite active developer working on primarily horror games and it isn't even close.
i'd probably be more forgiving if they didn't constantly step in it with regards to the sensitive topics that they themselves choose to delve into. if it was the first go around maybe one could think it wasn't completely thought through and not actively malicious but this is how many times now? Blair Witch pulled similar shit and that's not even speaking of the other games i haven't played.

I’ve heard the worst about this and avoid blooper, I’ve heard they’re making a new silent hill? Other than frictional their are so few mid-range horror devs it’s sad
there were a lot of rumblings about bloober doing Silent Hill, ya. let me just say if that's what it takes to come back i hope it stays dead lmao. i replayed Homecoming a year or two back and thought that was a test but that would most likely look like a 5/5 compared to what might be coming.
frictional is one of my fave horror devs even if Soma is the only title that truly blew me away. i was kinda sad to see them shift back to Amnesia afterwards but i still need to give Rebirth a fair try.

Yeah most of the other attempts at Silent Hill were weak and I don't mind it staying dormant. I found the Amnesia sequel a weak follow-up to Soma, but I've heard they're now a two-project studio, so there should be something more interesting in the works.
