so much of F.E.A.R. holds up on repeated visits consistently -- the unfortunate thing is that it falters towards the end consistently, too. the nightmares just can't fit into the john woo inspired theatrics that root the game's being. this game is at its highest heights when you're in the backrooms fighting against fascists. spas-12 in hand, reflex mode engaged spinning around columns and corners. nearly any shooter you can think of can't match what's here in terms of feeling. here's a little miracle of 2005 graphical prowess getting the proper treatment on the design front. still a benchmark in design.
