Astérix

released on Dec 31, 1993

Astérix was developed by Bit Managers and Infogrames for a number of different consoles. It was based after the comic book series Asterix, which maintained a high level of popularity in Europe, but never took off in North America. For this reason, the game was only released in PAL format, and was never released in North America.

Unlike almost every other NES game I decide to try out before falling asleep two hours later than I plan to, this one is actually pretty decent fun. Standard platforming fare, but it actually runs well and feels decent to control.

I'm in the US so I don't really know who this Asterix fella is, but he seems like a trustworthy bloke.

As with most SNES games, looks good but feels like pulling nails.

idk why the master system game that has nothing to do with the nintendo ones by infogrames is counted here. anyway i played both and they're equally fine "better than usual for a licensed game" fare except brought down tremendouslu by baffling level design decisions. nes game's music is cool tho
