Explore an unfinished RPG through its level editor. The spiritual successor to the unreleased Super Nintendo game Basilisk. This project seemed far more ambitious, but somehow almost became lost media. Developed around Y2K by an unknown studio, the game was thought to be lost until a fan designed a wrapper program in Unity to load its level editor. Now the potential can finally be seen and its mysteries laid to rest.

This game rocks. This is one of those exploration games where you need to take notes to keep track of your progress, and I've never felt more satisfied piecing together the pieces of the puzzle on my own. If you get stuck I recommend asking the KIRA LLC discord server for a hint, at least that is what I did. Some of the clues for the "final" areas were especially obtuse. I didn't realize you could move quicker around the map if you use the mousewheel until I was nearly at the end.

I'm an ARG hater. I love Inscryption, for example, but find the ARG elements corny and forced. Same goes for a lot of other games... but this felt truly realized and taking unique advantage of the medium I've never seen before.

Overall brought down a tiny bit because the fact you need to use a cipher at some point is very missable. It does at least give you the hint, which I'm thankful for, but I think it could be more clear.

Every inch of the rabbit hole felt like a mile. Very few games can match the sheer awe I felt over even the simplest of things, whether that be the fabled click of a puzzle solution falling perfectly into place, or the even more exciting anticipation that follows as you find yourself even deeper in what’s next.

would it be too myhouse.wad of me to call this ergodic gaming??
