still waiting for beep 2 🙌

A 2D platformer where you control a rover that goes from point A to point B collecting antimatter while trying to avoid the pits of frustration coming off from various design choices. Mainly, the way some of the enemies hit, the somewhat functional (but not really) anti gravity gun, the range of explosions, the softlocks and the various graphical glitches show a product that needed more time in the oven.

Well, at least the title is accurate once to start losing robots for these reasons.

"From the minds of former LucasArts and BioWare employees comes the critically-acclaimed BEEP." Well that's an interesting pitch!

What's true is the developer (not developers, as claimed) of this game used to work at both 😊

And then a current BioWare employee came along and wrote a negative review this year 🙁

Can you guess who they are?

BEEP is pretty decent for backlog material. Good amount of physics and a nice gravity gun. Music is OK, but lack of resolution or gameplay options are a bummer. Difficulty is fixed and Nintendo Hard, but only in the later levels. I see where the influence from ME2's explorable galaxy map came from, and I'm curious if this was a game mechanic thought up in the same timeline as Mass Effect 2's development, or just mere coincidence.

All in all, worth a play, probably at a dollar or less.

Well, it's an okay game. It controlled a bit awkward, and it was easy to sequence break by jumping off of objects mid-air, but it was a fun enough little experience.
