I'm always hesitant in playing a game/engaging in media made by someone I know but I'm glad that I was able to enjoy this without any bias. Hour-long visual novel about coming to terms with life/death, grief, etc. Emotional stuff. Technically this is furry fandom work but I would say to the same extent Bojack Horseman is furry. Actually nvm this is like a step further into being furry from that. Still, a good story that I think anyone can enjoy and it's free on itchio

Touching little game with a lot of neat ideas about life and death that it explores well. Builds up to a beautiful climax!

i have no idea whats happening to me as of late but ive been consuming so much media surrounding death lately im slowly getting into a very existentialist type of thinking i dont know if im actually enjoying i just ponder for half a day about afterlife maybe i need to get back to therapy

THAT BEING SAID ! this visual novel took me by surprise for its seriousness and heavy themes and yet coating it with so much bittersweet flavor and emotional value that i wasnt expecting it to achieve if im being completely honest

and for such a short read (maybe around a hour or so) its really worth to check it out

even though it should be (?) a furry visual novel the furry elements are basically concentrated in big dog wants pats so I guess that's safe for everyone

protagonist has soon departed from the world of the living due to terminal leukemia and is face to face with the reaper who surprisingly is just a big sweet doggy that is gonna lead him throughout his life and showing him the way to the ending of existence

theres a lot of depressing stuff here and even though it may not affect you directly its written in a way that really makes you resonate with the topic at hand and the protagonists feelings i would not advice you to read this if youre not in a really good headspace for the moment because it can get pretty chilling at times

being confronted with your own mortality is really daunting and even though we are surrounded with death everyday its not something that we willingly want to think about and thats what makes it even more interesting to break the taboo surrounding death and just delivering a story like this one

every single exchange between the mori and memento feel emotional to a primordial level its just making sense of your life and trying to accept that we are all gonna die through an idle chitchat with a cute doggy that wants to understand the value of life and slowly begins to get the gist of human emotions from the simplest to the most complex one

definitely underestimated this one and thats why it took me this much by surprise

the music is nothing incredible but is diligently composed and really drives the atmosphere and themes of the story home and the art design while kind of weird and out there in some places really enhances the visual novel as a whole

not a fan of how humans are drawn but id be damned if i didnt think that memento was actually adorable

if youre a fan of death youre the target audience and if youre not a fan of death youre still the target audience and probably the innumerable amount of red spider lilies all around symbolising the departure will get your attention more than the contemplative aspects of the end of life

weird coincidence that this is the second day in a row I have played a furry visual novel about the afterlife that describes itself as "slice-of-death" but this one's actually pretty great. Very melancholy and very contemplative about the type of shit I worry about a bit too much whenever I think too existentially. Doubt it will resonate with everyone but if you spend too much time worrying about wasting your potential in life and you are drawn in by the fact that there is a hotwolf it's a hands down recommendation from me pal. Free on itchio, takes like maybe an hour to read max. Go do it

(ps: as always, a good way to find the best furry visual novels is to check if they have a content warning list and if that list includes stuff like "death and grief" and "terminal illness")
