Nothing is as it seems in the Medieval world of Black Death. Find sanctuary in this eerie town that does not exist on any of the maps you have seen before. I knew beforehand this was a very, very short experience. I read it was a walking sim that's about half an hour or less. I hoped it would add something new; it was even less than what I imagined.

All you do is walk aimlessly around this small map, as an annoying voiceover tells you about the town's history with the Black Plague. The environment is static with the occasional horse head movement. You cannot speak to anyone. You cannot interact past picking up meaningless pictures for trophies. You cannot dig any deeper than the voice. Even though the voice says enticing things like, "do your best to keep your sanity." Absolutely nothing...happens. There's nothing. It's pretty to look at, but that's literally it.

I tried searching online for anything more to this project. Was is a small team, a school project, like what??? I couldn't find anything but the publisher's website and they don't even have it included in their portfolio. If it was a small project for experience as a developer, that's cool. But there's nothing of value here to "experience" as a player unless you're a trophy hunter.

What could've been a short, sweet, informative, Adventure game is just a lazy asset flip that has you slowly walking around a village looking at clip art pictures, the only positive about this game is that it's at least playable and it's also an easy way of getting a platinum trophy and that's it. So yeah that's my review, I'm going to be giving Black Death: A Tragic Dirge a Plain 2 on the recommendation scale.

Honestly, there is nothing to this game. Just a walking simulator where you find collectables in a small area. It does have an atmosphere to it and the environment is interesting enough... if you could be able to interact with it that is. Otherwise, this game is here for a very quick Platinum and that's it.
