Combines the design ideas of Doom and Blood into one (semi) coherent package. Just such a wild gimmick executed pretty damn well. It really captures both games in part here. You can play as either Doomguy or Caleb with unique weapon loadouts and abilities each. Every single enemy is a crazy combo of a Doom enemy and a Blood enemy mashed together into a totally unique enemy design that echoes both of its inspirations.

If there's one knock about Bloom, it's just that its combo of aesthetics leads to some very cluttered visual design that can often obscure where the player needs to go next. The designers seem keen on this problem, as the game often straight-up tells you with on-screen text when you need to return to an older area to progress. It works in the end, but it's a crutch for what this game lacks in level design that its two inspirations never struggled with.

Still, incredibly fun. Any and all fans of both Blood and Doom should check this out. It's a blast.
