Capcom Heroes mode, touted as a fun fanservice mode with a ton of outfits that give you powers of heroes from said franchise. Ironically it ends up being harder than the main game thanks to the fact this mode removes the skill tree completely, so you don't get any bonuses such as more healing item slots, increased health from healing, faster skill attack build ups etc. This means you're stuck with 3 healing slots that heal a measly 200 health the entire game. It's fine at first, but you definitely feel it by the end. So instead of skill points, levelling up will now give you a tiny boost to health or stamina only. I can kind of understand why they removed the skill tree since a lot of the old skills wouldn't apply in this mode - but if they didn't want to make a new tree that fit, couldn't they at least put the relevant skills as part of the level up kit instead of boring, and very minor, upgrades to only 2 stats?

Speaking of stamina, you can no longer see your stamina bar at all, as that spot is taken up by the timer for the outfits. So it's weird that one of literally 2 stats you can even upgrade can't even be seen in the game.

As for the outfits, it's kind of fun to see how they adapt them into Dead Rising's playstyle, and though you can feel a lot of similarities between their kits, the ones with the really fun easter eggs (like Arthur's running animation and sounds) make trying out each one rewarding. But unfortunately they don't scale with the game difficulty. Outfits you unlock in the endgame feel about the same power-wise as the very first one you can unlock.

There's also shadow versions of each outfit, which I GUESS is supposed to be stronger? I could never tell. In any case the way you unlock those is through beating 2 "hero training missions". Most of these are generic things like "Kill X zombies with skill moves", but you'll occasionally come across one that really takes advantage of the franchise it's repping, like having to break a car in the Ryu outfit in a time limit while zombies are attacking you.

My overall feelings with this mode is that it just isn't a better way to experience the already mediocre game of Dead Rising 4. Unless you're a MASSIVE Capcom fan, this version removes too much stuff. You can't even pick up regular weapons as vanilla Frank, because Frank himself has been given a Capcom heroes moveset. I kinda like that they put the effort in for that, but it ironically gives you LESS options, when they could have been lazy and kept Frank the same. Maybe a middle option where you can pick up different move sets for vanilla Frank that could use different ranged/physical/thrown weapons from across the series.

The mode is basically only supposed to be played after the main game, but it's already a pretty bad game, so why would you WANT to play it again? And it doesn't even remove the boring parts like having to wait through long dialogue, or the photography sections. So what's the POINT of this mode? It doesn't work as a first time playthrough, it doesn't work as a quick and fun replay with new stuff thrown in.
