bought this for the meme since it was like 50 cent, but i cannot tell what is going on in this game, it plays like ass, it only has a cool artstyle but thats about it
This was weird. Very russian. Didn't play it that long.
Tried to 100% for the meme but I don’t have it in me.
I’ll give it this: the art being lifted directly from Treasure Island does give the game a lot of style. Everything else is bad.
I know, I know, it’s supposed to be a meme. I’ve seen the Phonk edits. I get it. There still needs to be some foundation for a game that’s at least playable. I’ve put 2 hours and a couple runs in and I still have no idea what’s going on.
Way too much screen clutter, 90% of your playtime will be getting stuck on indistinguishable geometry. It’s impossible to tell how you’re taking damage, what the source is, how to avoid damage, etc. Nothing here is legible.
The first boss you encounter has one animation that lets him heal if you attack. The game doesn’t tell you this, but even if you know the gimmick there’s still a chance he enters the animation and stays there for half a minute while you can’t do anything.
Still managed to get 10 levels in during one run (it’s a roguelike btw) but at that point, I was either stumbling stupidly towards victory or operating on pure instinct. Subsequent runs did not yield similar results.
