Quite a fun game, also worked on by Wadjeteye Games and it is interesting when they do with the wizard of Oz lore. I quite enjoyed this and it's a nice short adventure game that I recommend to most anyone willing to have a go with it, not to mention it's quite cheap and easy to find online.

Unlike other Oz based things I've seen recently, this game adds to the lore instead of alters it and holds a lot of references to all the many different areas of Oz that you get to travel outside of the emerald city. You soon find yourself getting involved in a conspiracy that could plunge Oz into danger.

Game abandoned due to game breaking bug. I was not going to start again.

Emerald City Confidential is not a bad game on paper, it's just broken beyond repair: it uses the Oz background to tell a good noir tale written by Dave Gilbert, but unfortunately the game suffers from poor coding (done by someone else who makes hidden object shovelware) and a killer combination of single slot autosaves, no manual saving and constantly looming game breaking bugs (there are many), which are more likely than not to render your playthough unfinishable.

It's also plagued by a myriad of mobile game mannerisms (ever wanted to play an adventure game with tutorials, hidden objects and "objective completed!" messages?) which make it feel like little Jimmy's first adventure game, a feeling further compounded by how easy it is as a general rule.

Too bad not being able to finish it, but I'm not too broken up about it. If you're going to play this, back up your saves regularly and in different folders.
