TW: suicide
playing this in 2021 is surreal. 12 years after I played it for the first time when I was still in elemenatry school I somehow remembered almost all of it; it stuck with me, probably because of its usage of its drab, grey aestethics, its alienating and repetitive music, and how the dehumanizing environments are contrasted with grim, peaceful, self-reflective moments.
As a game, I applaud it for pushing mechanically its players to rebel against the linear structure you are at first presented with; but while adding a suicide scene was interesting, I can see how people can be negatively impacted by it.
This game stuck with me for 12 years. Will it stick 12 years more? We'll have to wait and see.
