Fantasy Strike

released on Sep 14, 2017

Be an archer with fiery arrows, a colorful painter, a martial arts master who can transform into a dragon, and more! Fantasy meets martial arts in this vibrant world. The streamlined controls get you to the fun decision-making part of fighting games as soon as possible. All moves are just a single button press, combos are easy, move lists are concise. Though Fantasy Strike is easy to get into, it's designed as a competitive tournament game with an emphasis on depth and balance. It's a mental sport that's difficult to master—just not difficult to control.

This game is not okay

The free version of the game on switch has several modes locked behind the ‘core version’, which like, just make the free version a demo to the full version and not make it seem like a free game

I’ve played worse, but Fantasy Strike ain’t great. It does simplicity like, ok, but some decisions I still question like making healthbars have a set amount of ticks instead of being an actual healthbar. Also David Sirlin can suck it for copyrighting the term Yomi, weirdo.

it's a pretty terrible fighting game with wack artstyle, bad gameplay and obnoxious dev. on top of that it's pretty much dead at this point because there are just far better alternatives to whatever fantasy strike tried to do.
