Deity Device is a heavily story driven romhack of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones created by the user Permafrost. The game begins with a young noblewoman on a pilgrimage with her band of knights, but she is diverted when her brother is kidnapped, gradually being drawn into the larger plot. Both the gameplay and story are strongly inspired by Genealogy of the Holy War; with a focus on large maps and political schemes. The game features: -39 Main Story Chapters and 10 Gaiden Chapters -A smaller more developed cast of 26 playable units -An all new magic system

The very long winded story is good. I can easily attest to that, at least. The issue is that there is not a single well designed map in this game. Couple this with the fact that this game has some of the worst snowballing I've ever seen and every map in about part 2 and beyond becomes "Step 1: put Harold in range of as many enemies as possible. Step 2: Pick off everyone that targeted Harold. Multiple units have Galeforce to speed up this process. Step 3: Heal Harold of any damage he may have taken with your infinite use physic staff dancer. Step 4: Repeat." Some portraits are a little rough around the edges too, Nathan is easily the biggest example with him looking like he's missing half his head. I was easily reaching crit rates of over 100% by just playing the game normally, the absurd strength of your units can't be understated. Especially because this game has defacto infinite leveling by using a random bow that one of your archers has. A bit too long to ever suggest a replay either. It's fair to say that this is probably the longest FE hack, right?
