The shooting feels real good. The jumping feels not so good. The music and the art style are excellent and the built-in scanline filter is beautiful.
However! There are too many junky gems to collect and I don't like that you keep switching back and forth shooting styles by picking up trash. I know this is a Contra thing but just let me choose, please.

Bought this on the cheap cause I was in the mood for a arcade style shooter. It met my expectations. I wasn't bad and it wasn't mind blowing either. Middle of the road for me.
