Highway Blossoms: Remastered is the new definitive romance treasure hunt road trip experience. Most importantly, it's now fully voiced in English by a talented cast of actors. We've also remastered the soundtrack for a better listening experience, touched up the art for a better viewing experience, and added a Chinese translation for a better Chinese reading experience.

A decent visual novel that has some unexpected authenticity in parts. Mostly, though, this is a fairly average telling of two girls falling in love impossibly fast on a cartoonish adventure through the American southwest. In other words, it's what's advertised.

This started rough but really won me over by the end! Too tired to make organized thoughts so here are bullet points:
If you play this, you need to turn off the voice acting. That decision was 60% of how it eventually won me over. The performances themselves aren't bad but they exaggerate the problems that are already in the writing, eg Amber's sarcasm goes from irritating to insufferable.
The other 40% is the gradual abandonment of the treasure hunting story. I still don't totally understand it, but it's only there to motivate the relationship, so, whatever.
The characters are like, actual characters! Who develop!! I've played so many crummy VNs populated with 0 dimensional characters that I get excited when characters display a modicum of self awareness.
It's very obvious this lesbian romance story was written by three men.
That said...... Not the worst sex scenes I've ever read. They actually fit into the plot rather than being bolted on for fanservice. (The adult content can be disabled and on Steam requires a patch.)
The characters frequently talk about an upcoming music festival that they call "Coachella" exactly twice and I wonder if that's from an old draft and mistakenly left in. Because it's definitely not Coachella.
Achievements for leaving a game open idly should be illegal.
