Dear lord this was something. I will start off by saying I'm not gonna talk about the content of the ending but I will say that it actually shocked me 100% and not in a way that felt cheap or meaningless. I will also say though that I did kind of wish there was more leading up to it in the last area before the ending.

This game has a pretty bad use of mixels and a huge spread of different-resolution assets that are, at least to me, pretty hard to look at. This includes things like particle and lighting effects that clash heavily with the rest of the traditional pixel art. There were also a couple of nit picks I had with the physical bounds of objects, there were a couple times where I got snagged and a few places where I thought to myself 'this looks big enough to walk through but it won't let me'. Minor stuff at the end of the day, but still things that made me feel like it needed a bit more polish.

A game with a lot of heart and wittiness, Karisvale puts you in the shoes of a private investigator named Shaymus, who is called to a small town in search of a missing person.

There is plenty of nooks and crannies to explore in the game, as well as collectibles to find, it was very fun searching for them. You speak with the citizens to find clues, and along the way there is a puzzle or two to pick your brain at.

The game looks very nice, with a cozy pixel art style boasting bright colouration and hand-drawn character portraits.
Unfortunately, there is no save feature but it is not a big deal as the game can be completed in one sitting (~45 mins).

The characters you meet are very lively and infused with snappy, witty writing.
To top all of this off, the story has a very cool twist that caught me off guard.

Karisvale is a very well-made mystery game, especially for it being free.
Can't recommend enough!

I actually gasped out loud towards the end. Really enjoyed the story and the execution.

Ennesimo gioco con le metacazzate
