A pretty bad port and it was the only version I’ve ever played of this game. Just not too much fun and found the computer and the learning curve more difficult this time around.

In the beginning, Mortal Kombat ports for the handheld systems were solidly fun, if obviously abridged thanks to hardware limitations, the Game Gear versions more so than Game Boy.

MK3’s portable offerings shot all of that to hell, in between the computer being borderline-impossible hard due to janky controls, garbage sound quality, and the limitations on characters catching up to the series (three of the nine characters available being the cyborg ninjas, including the unlockable character; understandable for portable MK2 ports but just annoying given how low quality MK3 is in comparison).

MK3 already struggles not being as much an improvement over MK2 as MK2 was over the original, but the Game Boy port is just garbage, no fun to be had. I haven’t played the GG version, much less the Master System version (which IIRC was exclusive to Brazil) but I hear it’s even worse.
