Developed exclusively for Nintendo GameCube by Nintendo and Left Field, NBA Courtside 2002 taps into the power of Nintendo GameCube to deliver authentic NBA action that makes those other games look like they're stuck in the era of the two-handed jump shot. Up to four players can hit the hardwood simultaneously and talk trash to their hearts' content as they bust sweet cross-overs, first-step jukes and monster dunks.

NBA Courtside 2002 delivers a solid basketball simulation with impressive, for the time, visuals and realistic player likenesses thanks to its motion-capture technology. It offers a good range of game modes and smooth controls, capturing the essence of NBA action. However, its overly simple AI, occasional glitchy animations, and a lack of overall polish hold it back from truly replicating the excitement of a real NBA matchup.

Got AI the ring he deserved. I wish this series would have continued very arcadey and just fun. Rip Courtside after this game

A nice upgrade in terms of graphics and gameplay adjustments versus the N64 Courtside game. Some unique gameplay features that I enjoyed were using the left trigger to shield and prevent runs/layups on defense which is something that was new for basketball games of the time.

Cool street mode of 3v3. Never knew what I was doing while playing, like in any sports game.
