Beautiful looking game with some nice artwork and a good story

Negligee is “one of those games” in which you progress through a very deep and long story, give certain responses and follow different outcomes, based on your answers. When played right, you can unlock some nice “artwork”, so to speak.

This game is purely story based. Although every scene, conversation and consequence is very detailed, the short version is that you are a lesbian, lingerie store manager and need to hire some personnel. Three female candidates apply for the job, each with their own story, personality and motivations. Through a series of answers or choices, you determine who you want to hire and, based on your previous responses, each character (including yourself) has her own ending that you unlock, good or bad.

The good part is that you can save the game and your story progress at any time in multiple save slots. This way, you always fall back on a previous save, to choose a different answer or response, so you can see more alternative pieces of the story. It is something like a parallel universe in which certain things might, or might not, happen.

You can also skip text and auto forward, making it easy to pick up where you left off, if you load a previous save but forgot to save it to a certain point. This way, you are not forced to read the millions of text boxes before you arrive at your current point of progress.

Negligee has, as mentioned, multiple different endings and outcomes. These outcomes reward you (if you get the good ending) with some tasty artwork, in which our store manager interacts in a more delicate matter with her soon-to-be hired employee(s). There is even some moving CG’s, with some animations.

The graphics, or should I say artwork, is beautiful. It is nice and colorful and the images and slides look sharp and on point. The detail is stunning and everything is nice and “in proportion” so to say. The animated CG’s are fine to look at, although they only consists of one extra facial expression or limb movement that shifts back and forth.

The music is excellent for a game with this “theme”, it is a little too good to be here if I am honest. Nevertheless, it enhances the playing experience and adds some “romance”.

In terms of controls, you only need your good old mouse to progress in this game. Click, click away and once in a while, stop clicking, read your choices and click again. You always got one hand free, although I think one does have other sources for that kind of stuff instead of this game.

There is really nothing bad to say about Negligee. You know what you are playing when starting it up, it has a solid story that actually intrigues you, while offering some nice rewards in the progress. At the end of the road, you feel a little bit ashamed, but satisfied at the same time. You close the game, change your status from invisible to online and quickly play some other games to shove this one down in your recent activity playlist.

In the end, I enjoyed my storytelling experience with Negligee and would recommend it to everyone.
