Songs are great but that's it. It's basic DDR but without the peripheral that makes it famous. Has two mini-games, one of which serves no purpose and another that you have to play upwards of 100 total levels to unlock the hidden songs and difficulty. It's subpar DDR hidden behind the simplest version of Lunar Lander ever released. Damn shame, because the visual presentation is ADORABLE.
Like the PS1 version of OhaSuta DDR, I don't think I really have the appropriate context to appreciate this game seeing as I wasn't a Japanese kid in the 90's that knows all the intricate OhaSuta lore and would think it's awesome to play those songs on the go. And without that context, all that's here is a DDR GB game with 7 songs, which IIRC makes this the smallest setlist out of any DDR game I've played so far. (hopefully there won't be anything else smaller that I haven't played?) I guess to make up for that the card collecting from the PS1 game is still here and there are a couple of minigames that you can play to add a little variety, but even still this is an absolute nothing game. You do be better off playing literally any other game in this series, though I guess I underestimated the power/popularity of OhaSuta seeing as this game exists. Unless you are going on the insane mans quest of playing every DDR like me or are the aforementioned japanese kid in the 90s who watched ohasuta there's not much reason to play this.
