Having to play this twice for all trophies sucks a bit but at least its getting easier since you get a giant amount of XP in this

This shit is, quite frankly, pointless. This DLC feels like a JRPG post game, but added after the fact as nothing in the base game really hints as to anything in this.

The combat is more challenging, which is good; the base game is piss easy. They make 90% of the fights challenge fights and that is cool, but also 90% of them are "Win: Kill the enemy, Lose: Your party dies", only a few have fun win conditions to play around with.

The bosses have this ability to summon a black cube once they take enough damage. This cube will charge for 1 or 2 turns then the boss will unleash some super attack. If you defeat the cube the boss will get a defense debuff. It's fine at first, but the end game bosses have cubes that are just fucking damage sponges so I cannot destroy them in time. The boss then does a super move on me and wipes my active party. I could kind of force my way through some, but once I got to Enel, it was just impossible for me.

I was always at recommended level too, so these cubes just start drastically being bullshit. The cubes also just won't let you target the actual boss while they are up, so it just makes the fights fucking drag on.

Besides the combat changes, this dlc also focuses on story. You are forced to go through 3 of the worlds again, but the dev's knew walking that much would be fucking mind torture and this dlc just skips to each cutscene. The story, however, is pretty fucking pointless. It introduces a bunch of new stuff that has not intrigue from the base game, and it doesn't really do anything interesting with Lim. The only good thing was, as always, seeing the Straw Hats interact with each other.

Outside tougher challenge bosses that include characters that weren't in the main game, this is an inferior expansion. Random battles and exploration are almost removed entirely for a bland, on-the-rails story.

love that the developers understood that no one wanted to walk around the world in the main game and just teleported us from cutscene to cutscene in this
