Playing Through My Evercade Collection Part 17: Indie Heroes Collection 1
This here be a game that wears its Mega Man inspiration clearly and openly on its sleeve but good lord its not fun. The big problem here is the overall controls and platforming just feeling really dull and weightless. The jumping feels awkward, the ladder controls feel slippery and strange, shooting feels unresponsive and theres no proper hit-stun to either to yourself or enemies so its sometimes confusing and unclear as to when hits connect properly or not.
I can appreciate the effort to make this game Evercade specific with some graphical changes and control prompts edited to match the Evercade's own buttons and look but it doesnt prevent the game from feeling just too half-baked for its own good.
