Almost feels like a TwinBee aesthetic, but in a vertical shooter this time. Plays pretty well but it's also tough.

This is a vertical oriented shmup that has you in control of one of two girls. The game has a 2 player mode but it's not cooperative. You have to go stage by stage facing some bosses and then you'll reach the end and then it just keeps going till you game over. It's pretty simple.

There's three different shots you can use by grabbing the right item. They are pretty well balanced that you'll want to avoid one. There's also bombs that clear the screen and change depending on the weapon you use. Otherwise that's about it when it comes to items besides like the one that makes your normal shot stronger. There's no speed ups or any other item to my knowledge.

Stages are mostly going to interest you just by their looks because sadly there's no real gimmicks here to satisfy you people who want to feel a rush. Even the enemy variety is kinda low, at least for the weaker enemies. Even the bosses aren't the most special but some look cool like the Fire dragon even if it just reminds me of Gradius II. It can be pretty challenging at times and going back to checkpoints doesn't help. There's also a bonus stage where you match a 3 panel image and I only won at it once. If you want a chance at it, make sure you don't use all of your bombs in a stage.

The game actually looks pretty cool. I like the look of the stages. For 1989, it's a cool set of designs. The two girls Selia and Rumy look cute though I wish they had different voices. I do wish the game didn't have such awful slowdown at times though. The music on the other hand just sounds funny like it's kind of bad but idk it gives me the same vibes as the Sailor Moon arcade ost.

If you can remind yourself this came out in 1989 then you'll probably get some decent enjoyment for it. Yeah there were better shmups by this point but I think some of the looks can keep it from being dull. This game oddly never got ported anywhere to my knowledge outside of some emulated stuff like the Arcade Archives release. Selia would show up as a playable character in Jaleco's crossover shmup Game Tengoku so at least her journey wasn't fully over. To end this off I have to say searching for this game on Youtube sucks because there's a Street Fighter game with Plus Alpha in the name. A sad faith.
