(This review is for Blaze Black 2 Redux)

Again, this is the fourth Pokémon game I've reviewed in the last ~45 days, and the third difficulty hack - this is basically just Pokémon with my two least favorite aspects, low difficulty and team restriction, removed.

I loved this game. I think Blaze Black 2 Redux really adds some great quality of life changes and I love the minor story changes.

couldnt do postgame since my shit corrupted but other than that very fun :)

note: i did a challenge mode soul link for my playthrough.
the revisions done to gameplay systems are very refreshing, enabling some crazy strategies. while most of the trainer fights are easy, some encounters feel like legitimate boss fights, forcing me to continuously swap out my team and adapt/experiment with new pokemon.

This hack makes every pokemon up to gen 5 catchable which is pretty cool for team diversity. It also has some quality of life changes by spreading competitive items throughout the map and having an EV training NPC.
Now the problem I have with this game is that it gives way too many Pokémon to the common route trainers. Pokemon black and white 2 have the most trainers out of any mainline pokémon game, so giving every trainer 3+ pokémon makes it a fucking drag to progress. Another issue is that there are too many triple and double battles. Some may think it adds challenge to the game, keeps you on your toes and makes you use different strategies. But that's not the case, it's still fucking easy to beat these double or triple battles, I just don't wanna do them though because I find them less interesting.
I liked this game but it made me realise the amount of flaws there are in a pokémon game, flaws that don't just affect this game but just about all of them.
