An outlet to play online/local multiplayer Puyo Puyo... and absolutely nothing else. There's no campaign, very little content in general, a real headscratcher of a roster and very little here that'd appeal to casual fans or series newcomers. But just being an outlet to play multiplayer Puyo is all this game was ever meant to be, so I can't really fault it for this I suppose. It's still Puyo, and Puyo's always fun, and for $10 tops, it's not a bad deal at all.

Despite the fact that there's very little to do in this game, I still 100% completed it anyway and I'm not sure what that says about me.

It's puyo. Puyo = good. Not much else here though. Still glad this released in the west.

Decent tutorials, but the small size of the scene meant that going online was just a way to get demolished. I did improve my Puyo Puyo skills a bit, though.

I always thought this was a kind of useless release considering Puyo Tetris is also available on every(?) platform this game is on. That game gives you pretty much everything this game has along with so much more. But with that, the old and Tetris-rotted brain of mine from back in 2018 still looked forward to its release and ended up playing it a decent amount.

I guess if you're a big fan of the characters/art/gameplay/whatever you see in Puyo Tetris, this game does offer you a bit more in that regard (Draco Centauros my beloved). It also has a few fun features that Puyo Tetris on Switch lacks, notably the fact it lets you switch character voices from English to Japanese. Idk why that was only a part of the PC version of Puyo Tetris, but yanno how localizers can be sometimes...

The price point makes it very easy to recommend though. That's probably its biggest edge over Puyo Tetris. I remember playing it a decent amount with many different friends online just because it was so dang cheap when it went on sale. It's a very fun little game.

fun game with friends when you both have no idea how to properly play puyo
