It might be hard to root for the deplorable Angelica Pickles in the RUGRATS television series and films, but she's the star of this exciting video game. It seems that the oft-disgruntled heroine has decided to put together a little fashion show. It'll be up to you to help Angelica organize the entire event by seeking out wigs, purses, shoes, clothing, and other accessories from around the neighborhood. The show's success is entirely in your hands throughout this lighthearted search. All of the usual suspects are here as well, so prepare to get into tiffs with the likes of Chuckie, Tommy, Phil, and Lil. A plethora of mini-games keep things fun, challenging you to perform all sorts of activities based on the hit TV show. Winning these games will earn you rewards that can be used to help get the necessary materials for the fashion show. If the show succeeds, you'll get to move on to hidden areas for all-new challenges!

This was the only game I hired as a child on the PlayStation. We didn't have much money, so this was the only game I could rent. I remember enjoying it and wanting to spend more time on it, but I also felt frustrated. I especially loved the model show (even though Angelica, who I never liked, was super mean). I never really liked the Rugrats, but somehow I enjoyed a magazine about them. Unfortunately, I could never finish the game because it took too long, was too hard for me and involved going in and out of games and platforms. I also didn't have a memory card, so I had to play it all in one go. Now, when I watch videos of this game, it doesn't look very good, and it's no wonder I was frustrated.

After getting stuck and abandoning a dozen games partway through in the days before you could just google a walkthrough, this was the first game I actually managed to beat.

Play minigames, get clothes, do fashion. I love this game for allowing you to have wacky outfits like a Pirate shirt or Guy Fieri pants and just letting you pair them with other things to properly make them cool or pretty. The scoring system on the outfits is a bit nonsensical but any time you get scored, you make progress, so it's not a big deal.

The meat of the game, the minigames, are mostly enjoyable. Three take way too long though: the bug hunt, the color memory game and the yarn maze. Sometimes they have too many accessories hidden behind them as well. The rest are pretty fun, timing-based or arcadey in some other way, and are generally a huge improvement over the last two minigame collections. This is how they tricked little young me into playing a dress-up game a lot as a kid, but now everyone does "fashion Souls" and other stuff so I was just an early adopter actually.

There's also some pretty good lines in here, very much so befitting Rugrats and whatnot. All the minigames are super goofy and playful. The actual fashion is obviously also very kiddy. The game just has a good spirit to it. I generally like it, but some minigames are so clearly superior to others that doing anything else other than loading up a save and playing those over and over is just honestly not worth it. Now, gonna break myself a pinata.

I had a blast with this as a kid
