Sega needs to stop releasing a dozen Sonic games every years and start reviving their classic franchises. I had a lot of fun with this game, difficulty spikes do show up here and there, but once you get the hang of it you will roll smoothly with the combats.

This game is not that difficult, but the intense flashing on every attack and move gave me a headache after a while.

Otherwise it's fun, just remember to take a break.

Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya is my introduction into the Shining Series, one that is in the shadow of Fire Emblem series. But for a game from a series I barely heard of, it impressed me to see that it worked very hard to push the limits of the Game Gear with a lot of content, amazing graphics, and sound for the little system that could. Sword of Hajya may not be the best experience of the Shining Force series, but it's one that I am glad to experience, even if level 3 spells are a menace to society.

not nearly as graceful of an experience as the genesis classics but still a nice time and probably one of the best game gear games, though that's not saying much
