I'm giving it the 2.5 mostly because of how charming the world and the characters are, also the amazing spanish translation the game got, that's a 5/5 on its own.

But yeah, the game is repetitive, grindy as hell and all dungeons being the same dungeon, but with different furniture doesn't help at all. I think this game would get a semi-decent pass if you could at least secure ONE copy of the big reward, but hell, you could go through the dungeon 10 times and get a copy in the last one.

Going back to the world, the plot is simple, but dialogues and events are funny as hell, Level 5 knows how to write comedy and they show it here once more. Is probably one of the games I took more screenshots and videos from the story than any other, just to show my friends why I was still suffering the boring gameplay loop.

There's a fun gameplay and monster collection loop buried underneath all of this (think Yokai Watch Blasters with the serial numbers filed off and less charm) but man this is one of the most painfully unfunny games I have ever played. They named the multiplayer hub "The Covfefe Cafe" and an entire story chapter is themed around saying the same crap/kraken pun for an hour. It's like if a Facebook meme from your uncle's groupchat gained sentience.

I don't get how people could play this for more than a couple of hours without getting bored, because you have to do the same dungeons constantly, or frustrated, because the combat feels sluggish and annoying.

I'm a huge Level-5 fan, and I've played most of their games. They're a developer that really put a lot of love into their games, and you can really feel that when you play them. So understandably, I came into Snack World with high hopes and high expectations - but I was sorely disappointed.
As per usual with Level-5, there is a lot of good fourth-wall-breaking humor in Snack World which was a lot of fun! The environments feel whimsical and all the major points in the town feel well-placed. The combat is solid, the exploration is intuitive, and the enemies are pretty cool as well.
Where the game went wrong is that it didn't do anything new - once you played the first dungeon, you've played them all. It was a repetitive snoozefest over and over again, and the lackluster story didn't motivate me at all to continue playing it.
I do like the characters, they're cute and funny and fit in well with the theme of the game, but they never really did anything major in the story. There were no stakes and no reasons to feel connected to any of the characters, and the combat was all the same as it was when I first played the tutorial.
I really wanted to like Snack World, and I can't say I didn't give it a shot. I know Level-5 are masterful game developers, and they've made some of my all-time favorites, but this is simply a title that is all Level-5 charm and no good substance or gameplay.

A load of fun to just sit back and mash out a few dungeons in. Level-5 make super fun games and this reminds me of Yokai Watch Blasters. Plenty to do and a lot to unlock to keep you ingame for hours. Honestly worth buying if you just wanna lay about and read amazing food puns. Though I could do without the weird out of place Trump memes in the localization. What the hell is that about?.

Kinda fun but sometimes it gets really difficult for no reason. I wish it would tell you the recommended equipment you should use to take down a boss because if you don't know you're gonna have a hard time. Has some of the worst dialogue I've ever read.
