Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

released on Mar 01, 1992

From Wikipedia: "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is a video game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992. It is the sequel the original Star Wars for the NES. This is the second of three video games released under the Empire Strikes Back title for home video game systems. It was preceded by a version for the Atari 2600 and succeeded by Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back for the SNES. The NES version was released the same year as JVC's Super Star Wars for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. As Empire was released towards the end of the NES's lifecycle, a corresponding sequel to the film Return of the Jedi was never developed, nor released. A version of the game was released for the Game Boy. That product was reprinted and distributed by several publishers over the course of three years."

Really a shame I'm ending my 8-bit era journey of Star Wars games on this one.

This is 100% the worst out of the three Famicom/NES Star Wars games. All three games are ridiculously hard, but this one is just on another level. It's not fun AT ALL, this is like one of the least fun games ever I swear.

most the levels are just endless fucking mazes, and the physics are just so weird, which makes platforming a nightmare. Absolutely garbage level design and garbage platforming.

The Sound design is some of the worst I've ever encountered on NES. The sounds are all just shit, really kinda ear hurting. The music will randomly cut in and out, it just plays at random times.

I didn't even finish this game because it's just so bad and not fun. This game deserves to be thrown away, forgotten, and lost to time. It's complete shit. What makes this even more insulting is that this came out in 1992, FUCKING 1992!!! This was at the very end of the NES's life, they should've been pushing the system to the limits, and by then had some good ideas about how to design a video game. But instead they drop this absolute garbage.

Seriously, this game is terrible.

(See all my Star Wars Rankings and reviews on my profile here, the list is titled "Star Wars Ranked.")

far from the worst licensed nes game but really thoroughly boring nonetheless

It's about on par with episode 4 on NES, IE not great but has some really nice looking visuals for NES and especially for an NES licensed games.
