Still Life

released on Apr 15, 2005

Two separate murder cases, in two separate lifetimes - so similar in the smallest of details that one could believe they were performed by the same person. Impossible! One of the crimes took place 75 years ago, while the other just happened! Is someone copying an old serial killer? Or is it remotely possible that the same murderer is still alive and committing more crimes? In this thriller adventure, you'll play as Victoria, an FBI agent, in modern Chicago as well as her grandfather, Gustav, P.I. in Prague in the 1920s. Explore Chicago and Prague and solve puzzles while preforming investigations in two time periods.

Cool detective point and click game with some impossibly hard puzzles typical for the genre, had to use a guide frequently but the story kept me invested enough to get through it, always knew where to go next as well

Excellent story with some jarring cuts during important moments and a total dud of an ending

Both protagonists are likable and interesting as well as the settings they inahibit, may give Post Mortem or Still Life 2 a try but havent heard much good things about 2 unfortunately

8/10

The worst cookie recipe in history. At least all the dead girls were nekkid.

Super solid point & click that despite being very linear, hits a good balance between too streamlined and too confusing/nonsensical and it overall improves everything compared to its prequel post mortem. There are hard puzzles, but everything is doable and more importantly, don't use nonsensical logic. Plus while not as memorable as something like TLJ, the voice acting, art direction and story are all great. I hated the ending though.

Great game, easy to follow and not get lost where you are going. Criticisms I have is that puzzles are insanely hard at times and the game's ending. Would reccomend, especially for the fact it goes on sale frequently. Gustav best boi.

Delightfully linear, and fast paced. A lot of it seemed a little ridiculous, but it was constantly fun and engaging so it's a good experience. I hope they make Still Life 3 where you get to see Gus die a horrible death though unless that happens in 2 but it probably doesn't anyway I think he's probably old by that point so it's not really bad and I don't like Gus much anyway he's probably my least favourite adventure game protagonist.

A masterful blend of challenge, characters and story, one of the best adventures with detailed characters, real life logic, and lots of twists in the story.
