Stranger of Sword City is a first person turn-based RPG dungeon crawler. The main character is Human but you get to change the appearance, gender, and class. You can create a team of up to 6 characters with customizable ages, races, and talents. Higher ages give more bonus points for stats but come with less life points. You can have 16 registered characters at one time. Races include: Human, Elf, Dwarf, Migmy, and Ney. Classes include: Fighter, Knight, Samurai, Wizard, Cleric, Ranger, Ninja, and Dancer. Classes can be changed up to five times. Each class change will half that characters current level but you get to keep one skill learned from the previous class. The game includes the new and old art styles allowing you to switch whenever you want. The games was originally released in Japan under the name "Tsurugi no Machi no Ihoujin: Kuro no Kyuuden" on Playstation Vita and under the name "Tsurugi no Machi no Ihoujin: Shiro no Oukyuu" on Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows.

Probably my favourite dungeon crawler ever. Great sense of accomplishment and a surprising amount of gimmicks which don't spoil things - in fact, they add some needed variety. The last boss was a fucker though, 20 minutes of walking around just to get to it! Going to go for the Platinum (first since FF13-2) as I'm already 88% of the way there.

[2017 note - I spent about 5 hours trying to get those last rare drops for the platinum and they just didn't appear!]

Christ this game gets hard. I love the atmosphere and art here to bits, and while the attempt at adding permadeath feels a little half-baked, it does ratchet up the tension pretty substantially on what would already be a pretty nervewracking game in a lot of spots. But for real the last few bosses in this game feel absurd and I'm extremely glad Experience worked out a more satisfying difficulty curve after this.

Gorgeous Art, but a horrible combat system that wastes your time and has confusing or just plain boring mechanics. Enemies can do 1 damage or instantly kill you. But again, gorgeous art and world.
