Tandem: A Tale of Shadows redefines the puzzle platformer genre with a unique gameplay and exceptional aesthetics. Help Emma and the teddy bear Fenton solve the mystery of the disappearance of the famous magician Thomas Kane. Players will alternate between Emma’s top-down view and Fenton’s horizontal side-scroller view, using the former’s lantern to cast shadows the teddy bear can cross. In turn, the latter can activate switches that may be out of view.

Tandem is a 2D puzzler platformer holding a dark atmosphere for its journey. The presentation of the game is nice and adjusting the settings, my PC can play it without major hiccups.
How the game differs from other puzzle platformers is you play as two characters. With the ability to change characters you change perspectives from a top-down to side scroller to work together to solve the level puzzle. You will need to change in order to progress each character and reach the goal.
There are about 5 world with 45 levels in total. Each level can take on average 10 mins to finish, with the later levels taking longer and a real head scratcher.
Although the game differs from the genre with a shadow mechanic, I did find the game repetitive. When finishing a level, there is no major satisfaction upon progressing. Having no collectables to obtain, no real story to push you forward, or no reward like costume or high score to achieve.
Due to this, the game overall feel shallow outside the levels and mechanics it offers therefore obtaining no replay value.

Puzzles muy ingeniosos, en mi opinión.

The promising premise fed my hope for a delightful and clever puzzler, but the reality was a tedious and visually provocative experience. I barely made it to the credits, rage-quitting frequently, left with no idea, what to do. Someone once sad "life is to short for a bunch of 7/10s". And this is barely a 4! So please: Pick up another puzzle game and save your money, time and nerves!

This one was a channel point redeem on my Twitch stream, not my pick so I didn't know what to expect. I ended up mostly liking it. The 2 characters switching back and forth from a top-down to a side scroller was cool and the puzzles were interesting.

Lacking a significant amount of polish, Tandem provides fantastic puzzles featuring a unique light and shadow perspective gimmick that makes it worth powering through the messy presentation.
