This was one of the first horror games I've ever bought on Steam, around 2015, I thought "It's only 49 cents, so why not?".

I wanted to recommend it, but the saving points are tricky - except if you already have the crowbar - and once you get to a TV, you'll have a hard time finding another one, so if you die you'll have to do the stuff all over again from the point you saved.

I had the machine handle, and I was ready to go to the machine room, but it didn't even give me time to put it because the controls are weird, you have to spam the keys until it works (even to click to open doors), so obviously, the Hat Man ghost was behind me and I couldn't escape anymore. At some point, when I had to look for the handle again, I couldn't pick it, for some reason, and several other handles kept spawning in different rooms, I kept clicking on them, it said "Picked up a machine handle", but it was still there on the floor and none in my inventory. I was stuck in that loop, everywhere I went, machine handles spawned over and over again, and I could never pick any of them, so I couldn't progress anymore.

I liked that the objects and pages have at least a sound to let us know where they are, and this game is very sound-based even for the jumpscares, plus the map is randomly generated so you don't have to know where you're going, things will eventually come to you. Those are the positive points about this game. Too bad the game is too frustrating to even manage to finish it.

What to say about this? umm...I'm not really a big fan of the survival games, however this does have a feel of Slender Man to it with collecting pieces of paper, however in this game they're diary pages of your daughter who has gone missing so you're more interested and invested than in that original game and if you aren't one for reading, the page is ready out like a audio-log when you view it.

Now for the bad points, the voice acting isn't that good. I mean it's not awful for the girl, but the parent (Father as i played) it was pretty awful and he didn't seem to be terrified that no one was at the asylum and he was being hunted by a creature made of shadow.

The story to it is quite interesting and made me want to keep playing just to find out what happened at this place and who this "Hat Man" was as well as why he was doing what he was doing. There is certainly potential in this and it's certainly not a awful game by any stretch of the imagination. For the price I'd say it's pretty good, especially compared to games that are 5x the price and have less than half the effort put into them.

If you're interested in the whole horror series, collecting creepy diary pages that heighten the atmosphere, despite the voice acting then I'd certainly recommend it. You could so easily spend your money on something much worse.

Game told me to "experience the scariest game of 2014", which was a total lie because FNAF came out and those fans would beg to differ

Me when I chug too much Benadryl and I see the hat man
