True story: I walk into GameStop looking for the 2006 Avatar game on the Wii. I see this on the shelf for 2 dollars, in one of their preowned cases with no cover art. Just "Avatar the Last Airbender" on the box. The same title as the 2006 game.

The guy at the register saw what game I was getting, and mentioned off hand that the movie was terrible. I imagine he did not want to tell me which game I was actually getting to make a sale... but he knew.

Imagine then, when I step out of the store and open the disc, and I am greeted with this game.

Ok, so dramatic story aside, it obviously isn't as bad as the film, but it still sucks. At the very least there was something of an attempt to add variety. Where you play as Zuko mainly and then Aang. And the choice to make the perspective focus on Zuko is novel.

But these levels make me fall asleep. The game is just boring and dull and slow and it is impossible to write anything interesting here. The most interesting thing I remember is that there's an achievement for jumping on a desk and throwing some papers around. They were really struggling to come up with achievements I guess..

There isn't enough here to hate, but nothing to care about. Just a bad, pointless experience.

As my first proper playthrough of a Wii game I was curious to see how this would play out, and seeing as it was developed by the same people who did the PlayStation 2 ATLA games based on the series I had pretty high hopes for it.

The motion controls are decent although I imagine they could've done more with them. The game itself is just as boring as the movie it's based on.

I don't think I ever actually had any real fun with this, it was just spam the button and run around.
I at least completed the first level because part of me was hoping it was just Zuko's level that was like that but I'm pretty sure the entire game is this monotonous.

If I had to choose between watching the movie or playing the Wii game I'd probably either choose this game or just up and kill myself.

lmfaooo this game sure was something
