PROS +
Nice visuals.
Nice sound.
Everything looks pretty,

CONS -
Boring dialogue
Boring story
Boring games (childish even)
Borin Boring Boring

Disappointed as I thought I'd really like this one!

Maybe I'll come back to it in the future!

I don't remember when I played it last year but I think I would have remembered it more fondly if it didn't crash every single time I tried to load the final level

The Low Road fun point-and-click adventure game with the usual mix of interactive puzzles and dialogue trees. If you enjoyed the Puzzle Agent games by Telltale, you might find something to enjoy here. The puzzles involving reading over evidence are the best part and the most original mechanic on offer.

The art style is partly influenced by a very 60s pop aesthetic. Think something like The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Danger: Diabolik, the Scalextric track on wall reminded me of one I saw in a Claude Chabrol film, and not something you often find in games, which is nice. It's nice to admire most of the minor details in the scenery as well.

My only real complaint is that it seems like there's a scene missing at the beginning and end of the game. While I'm not a fan of them in other mediums, I could have used both a prologue and epilogue here. These missing scenes leave several false endings in The Low Road feeling more satisfying than the actual conclusion. Still enjoyable, though.

This is a repost of a review I previously published on Steam in 2017.
